An audition takes around 15 minutes, including a friendly chat with our tutors before you play. There are three parts, and the panel will put you at ease throughout.
Bring your own instrument where possible. Percussionists have kit provided — just bring your sticks and mallets. A parent or carer is welcome to wait nearby, and we always have a safeguarding lead on site.

Age ranges follow the UK school year: your eligibility is based on your age on 31 August at the start of the course, not your birthday on the day. If you're close to a cut-off, register anyway — we'll help you find the right band.
A residential course is around £660, covering tuition, accommodation and all meals. No talented player misses out on cost — our bursary fund offers full and partial support, and applying is confidential and simple.
